Worth Sharing This Month
YouTube!
I think YouTube is such an amazing free resource. I pretty much use it on a daily basis for my own personal use and I often send clients links to videos depending on what we’re working on, some of the most common being:
- Workout routines – HIIT, Barre, Pilates, Yoga, stretching
- Sound frequency audios for sleep, relaxation, deep focus
- Mindset/motivational content
- Talks/lectures by specific experts
- Video podcast episodes
What I want to highlight, and in keeping with last week’s post on the importance of daily activity, is that you can find so many great, free workout routines on YouTube.
Whatever you want, if you search for it, I’m 99.9% sure you’ll find it!
I’m a big fan of several barre method and Pilates instructors who have their own channels with many different workouts to choose from and they upload new content regularly:
- I’m currently loving and getting great results with Move With Nicole’s workouts, you can find her channel here.
- And I’m a long-time fan of Coach Kel.
If Pilates or Barre aren’t your thing, you’ll also find every other kind of exercise method you can think of:
- I recently found an excellent yoga instructor’s channel with some 10-minute beginner workouts for a client who is trying yoga for the first time and wants to start off slow: Try one here.
- For another client, who wanted to start weight training in the gym but wasn’t sure what he should be doing, I found a PT who has some very simple, well-explained upper and lower body routines using only dumbbells for beginners:
UPPER BODY workout with dumbbells
LOWER BODY workout with dumbbells
- And here’s a 20-minute HITT, (High-Intensity Interval Training) Tabata workout that I shared with another client – this is a great routine that I now do fairly regularly myself: Watch it here.
If you want to start moving more but you’re short on time and/or don’t have the budget for a personal trainer, a gym, or an online membership, I highly recommend you try YouTube for free, high-quality, accessible workout routines of all kinds.
One last tip for you; if you have a YouTube account (free or paid), you can also create folders to save all your favourite videos. I have one called ‘Fitness’ for my workout videos so that I can find them easily.
Remember, doing something is better than nothing and consistency is key so even 10-minutes a day can make a big difference over time!
FYI; this isn’t a paid partnership or any kind of affiliate arrangement with YouTube, I simply think it’s a fantastic resource and worth sharing!
