Slow Cookers
As the colder months roll in, a slow cooker can be a real game-changer for your wellbeing and relaxation or productivity. It’s the perfect kitchen companion for autumn and winter (though it’s just as handy in warmer months), offering a low-maintenance way to prepare nutritious meals with minimal effort.
Simply throw in your ingredients in the morning, and by dinnertime, you’ll have a wholesome, hearty meal waiting. Or, let it cook overnight, and you’ll wake up with lunch or dinner ready for later in the day.
Slow cookers are excellent for preserving nutrients (especially when cooking meat on the bone) and enhancing rich flavours, making them ideal for soups, stews, and casseroles – comforting dishes that will keep you satisfied, fueled, and energised. Best of all, they free up your time, allowing you more time to relax or focus on other tasks while your meal gently simmers away.
While I don’t endorse one specific brand, there are many options to suit different needs. Here’s a really good and up-to-date review of the best slow cookers for 2024 by the Independent.
