Here in the UK, it’s been 1 week since the government announced the guidelines around staying at home unless it’s to go out for food, for work that cannot be done at home (key workers) or for exercising once a day.
For many people, this change in lifestyle has been very difficult, for others less so.
But either way, on some level, I would imagine we’re all having realisations about ourselves and the way we’ve been living life and doing business up until this point — on an individual level, as a family, as a society and as the world at large.
I’ve already had a few realisations myself whilst being at home so much, just small things personal to me that I need to change or continue going forward.
Have you had any of your own?
- What have you been doing differently that you’d like to carry forward once life returns to normal?
- Anything you have really valued about this time so far? And how can you maintain that for the long-term?
- What do you miss and value now more than ever? … (- those watercooler conversations perhaps!)
I would recommend making a note of these insights as you have them. Write them down in a special notebook, your journal or start a simple list in a word document.
See this as a kind of ‘lessons learnt’ exercise … And as the weeks go by you will add to your list and probably build on those insights you’ve already had.
This will be a time for awakening on many levels if we choose to reflect on how we feel about the past up until this point, the present moment and then the future and what we might do differently.
