October 6th, 2023 – Defining wellbeing & selfcare – what do they mean to you?
I speak to so many people who tell me that they struggle to prioritise their wellbeing and selfcare around their modern-day, busy lifestyles. While, on the flip side, I find there are also lots of people who end up overly focused on these areas leading to feelings of constant self-improvement or the quest for never-ending ‘healing’. So, this month, we’re focusing on selfcare. In this first blog post of the series, I want to start by exploring the definitions of wellbeing and selfcare: Read the full post here
October 13th, 2023 – Q&A: There’s never enough time for my health & wellbeing!
This month’s question comes from Adrian: Dear Kate, I find it hard to prioritise looking after my wellbeing in the ways I know I should outside of my work and family responsibilities. The weekdays start rushed and hectic, I’m focused on work all day and by the time the evening rolls around I’m zapped! The weekends are mostly about spending time with my children and doing errands or chores. I just don’t seem to be able to find enough time for my health and wellbeing. Help! Read my answer here
October 20th, 2023 – How do you look after yourself well?
Although most people would say that their biggest struggle is finding the time to prioritise their selfcare and wellbeing; there’s another key area that I see holds most people back from looking after themselves well … And that’s being attuned to their body so that they can effectively cater to its needs. Because, if someone isn’t connected to their body and can’t hear what it’s trying to tell them (through symptoms) then how can someone act on those signs and symptoms? Read the full post here

Wellness Formula
In the spirit of selfcare, this is one of the most important ways you can listen to your body and practise good selfcare …
Whenever you feel the slightest hint of a cold, sore throat or like you might be coming down with something, it’s key to act ASAP.
You can do several things – the first thing I’d suggest is taking it easy, slowing down, cancelling plans if you have a busy day or evening and definitely cancelling plans to exercise. I’d then get an early night as sleep is pivotal in supporting your immune system. However, the other thing I do and recommend is to take immune-boosting supplements at the first opportunity. This is to give your body the best chance at fighting off the potential illness.
My favourite supplement for this, which I’ve been using and recommending for years, is Wellness Formula by Source Naturals, which delivers high-potency vitamin C, plus more than 30 other vitamins, minerals, and time-tested herbs for advanced immune support.
As per their instructions, you can take 4 to 6 capsules a day to maintain a state of wellness. But if your immune system needs added support, you can take up to 6 capsules every 3 hours. However, do not exceed 24 capsules a day for a maximum of 7 consecutive days.
Personally, I take 1 capsule per day during the Spring/ Summer, and then in the Autumn/Winter I take 2 per day. However, if I feel I might be coming down with something I then take 3 x 3 per day to help bolster my immune system.
You can take them while you’re ill but if you want to potentially ward off illness then it’s key that you act as soon as you get the first inkling you might be coming down with something… And this is where the self-awareness, conscious choice, discipline, and the right advice comes in 😉
