This month’s content centred around something that’s become a default for so many people: chronic stress.

It’s the kind of stress that doesn’t always show up as panic or overwhelm, it can be that as well, but it’s often more perpetual busyness, reactivity, over-functioning, and a constant sense of being “on.”

Throughout June, I’ve shared a series of short, story-led pieces exploring how this kind of stress becomes normalised, how it affects not just the body but also our habits, behaviours, and sense of self… and why calm isn’t a luxury, but one of the most under-appreciated drivers of wellbeing and performance.

Below, you’ll find a quick recap of each article, along with the links to catch up if you missed any.

This Month’s Articles

June 6th, 2025 – You can be so used to being stressed that you don’t even realise you are

This article was inspired by a client insight I shared on LinkedIn that really seemed to resonate. So many people said things like, “I didn’t know I was stressed… until I wasn’t.” I wasn’t surprised – it’s something so many of us live with without even realising, simply because of the pace and pressure of modern life. This piece looks at how that happens, and what it tends to look like for most people… Continue reading

June 13th, 2025 –  When stress becomes your operating system

In the previous article, we explored how stress can become your normal, so familiar that you don’t even realise you’re operating from it. In this piece, we’re going to go a step further. Because once stress becomes your default, it doesn’t just show up in your body, it starts showing up in your habits, your behaviours, and even how you interpret the world around you. The tricky part is, it’s not just that it becomes your normal – it’s also so normalised in modern life… Continue reading

June 20th, 2025 – Calm is a performance advantage

One of the patterns I see again and again in high performers is this: They operate incredibly well under pressure. They can stay focused, switch into action quickly, and get things done, even when they’re juggling competing demands. But what they often don’t realise is that functioning like this all the time comes at a cost. Because even if it looks like things are working, underneath, they’re often running on empty. And the version of them that shows up under stress, even if it’s efficient, is rarely their clearest, most creative, or most strategic self … Continue reading

Worth Sharing

If you’ve never tried listening to binaural beats or solfeggio frequencies, they’re a simple yet powerful way to support nervous system regulation. I often use them myself and sometimes recommend them to clients, especially for calming a busy mind, easing into focus, or winding down after a long day (particularly if you’re feeling wired but tired). They can also be a great support for meditation, helping you access a deeper brainwave state more easily.

Sound frequencies work by gently influencing brainwave activity, they induce more relaxed brainwave states like alpha or theta, which are associated with calm, focus, and restoration.

If you’re new to this kind of thing and just want to try it for free, YouTube is a great place to start. Here are a few of my favourite channels:

One final note: many of these tracks are hours long, designed for overnight or all-day listening, but don’t let that put you off… You can listen for as little or as long as you like!
